This is not a one man show. We want a winning team of experts across the field to help us deliver the village project. We are working with key aid agencies such as Oxfam and Islamic Relief who will take ownership of different components of the reconstruction process. Halcrow engineering will provide the technical insight, understanding the scale destruction and how we should best approach the rebuild. James, together with The JCF team, will then be personally managing the entire project injecting his business and entrepreneurial expertise to ensure its effective and efficient delivery.
Our entire project is being endorsed by Prince Charles and his representative of the last 10 years, John O'Brian who is working closely with James throughout. Passionate public figure, Sir Bob Geldoff with extensive experience in development will also be supporting the project from start to finish. Regarding financial credibility, James will be personally carrying out the due diligence together with private equity firm, Hamilton Bradshaw, allocating funding on a milestone basis.
By utilising the Google Maps platform, we have created a unique opportunity for donors to monitor and track the whole reconstruction process for themselves. This unparalleled initiative allows donors to visualize for themselves exactly where and how their funds are being spent, revolutionizing the donor-agency relationship. James will personally be footing all expenses pertaining to the project so that all public funds we receive will be channeled directly towards the reconstruction on the ground.
By engaging with the local community at all stages of the reconstruction process, we want to build this village just as much from the grassroots level as the top-down. We want to empower local individuals to become an active part of the project as well as to understand their needs throughout.
In order to help those who have been affected to regain a sense of normality in their lives, and to look to a brighter future, we need to help them get their lives back on track. They need a home, access to medication and clean water, and the children need to remain in education.
The James Caan Foundation has created a model to rebuild villages.
Using our networks on the ground in Pakistan, we are able to identify a village. The JCF team are travelling out next month to make the final selection.
Having selected the village, The JCF will then identify the key trusted organizations that are operating in the chosen area. These agencies will deliver components necessary in this project. These include construction, water, sanitation, education and child protection and healthcare.
The JCF alongside Hamilton Bradshaw, private equity specialists, will work together to put forward a comprehensive and efficient cost plan for the delivery of the project. They will identify key milestones that need to be achieved before parting with the funds.
The JCF will project manage the procurement of the project, managing the partners and ensuring the project is executed within the identified time frame. The JCF team will track and monitor the progress of the village by frequent visits to the area as well as platforms provided for by our partners.
Ensuring credibility of the project is paramount to the James Caan Foundation. Whilst out in Pakistan, the JCF called upon the assistance of Halcrow Engineering to provide advice and guidance in the selection process. Halcrow were able to evaluate the different villages to determine which was most suitable for the JCF to deliver and complete within budget and timeframe.
Halcrow also did a preliminary analysis on Islamic Relief and Muslim Hands, to establish which was better placed to work with the JCF on the Build A Village project.
